Feather Tether: The Feather Tether is a safe bird harness which goes around the body of a bird. There are 2 styles. The smaller size is a simpler design with less weight, while the larger bird harness is styled to fit a bigger bird's body and strength. Not every bird will accept a Feather Tether. We have found the greatest success with Cockatoos, Macaws, and African Greys, and Eclectus. Introduce this harness as early as possible for the best success. However, most tame birds who trust their human can be introduced to a Feather Tether if you are patient and consistant.
TIPS: 1. Do not rush! Short, regular sessions will give better results. It is not unusual for it to take months before the bird is totally comfortable. 2. Reward your bird by going outside for a walk when he/she accepts it, even for a few minutes. 3. Practice on a stuffed toy bird if possible before approaching your pet. The less you have to fool around, the better. 4. The first few tries will be for fitting only. 5. Have a favorite treat or toy on hand at all times to distract the bird's attention away from chewing on the harness. Horton on his Feather Tether 6. DO NOT go for a walk with your bird harnessed until it has been properly fitted. See below for instructions

FitCockatiels, Senegals, Conure-size birdss:
For Petite and Small Sizes ONLY:
Step One Unclip the leash from the D-ring. Unsnap the strap and expand the nylon loop until it is large enough to easily place over your bird's head.
Step Two With the bird facing you, place the loop over your bird's head with the D-ring in the front, facing down. Gently shorten the neck loop until it is small enough to prevent the bird from backing its head out.
Step Three Bring the loose strap under the bird's wings, across the back, and around to the other side. Snap it closed on the O-ring only (NOT the D-ring) and examine the fitting to make sure it is not too lose or too tight. If so, remove the harness and adjust the strap to the appropriate length. Once fitted, attach the leash to the D-ring and go for a walk! (NEVER attach the leash to the O-ring)
