"Friends of Echo's Haven" is a support organization that helps to provide money for the purchase of cages, toys, food, perches and medical care for the birds at Echo’s Haven. Not only does this organization support the birds that are already here at the sanctuary, but it also aids us in rescuing new birds. Since Echo’s Haven is a sanctuary, a forever home, support of these birds is an ongoing endeavor. As you can see by looking at the photos of Echo’s Haven, we don’t just stick the birds in pet sized bird cages. All of the birds here are in large flights, usually at least a 6’ x 4’ x 12’. We also don’t believe in putting a bird outside in a flight all alone. When we get rescues in, after a period of quarantine, we put them in cages near each other, to get a chance to socialize and form a bond. Once two birds show a liking for each other, they are then placed in an outdoor aviary together. There have even been cases where we have purchased companion birds for our rescues. (Usually, the companion was also a bird requiring rescuing) Of course there is also always the ongoing cost of food and new toys. (since we mainly have macaws, the toys get destroyed pretty quickly) As you can see, this can become a pricey proposition.

What can I do to help?

The answer to that is simple, join the "Friends of Echo's Haven". For a small yearly membership fee, you can become a part of something wonderful! You will know that your money is going towards helping some very needy birds. Every day we hear about birds in need of rescue. Birds that have been abused, are neurotic pluckers, screamers, biters, or have just plain been ignored, and it breaks our hearts that we can’t take them in. Now with your help we can.

What do I get?

1) Membership card with your name and member number

2) Individual or Joint membership: a half-hour phone consultation with Toolady.

3) Family membership: 1 hour consultation with Toolady

4) Corporate membership: 4 hours of consultation with Toolady.

5) Lifetime membership: 20 hours of consultation with Toolady.

6) Preferential placement in the sanctuary. If for any reason you have to send your bird away, you will be put on the top of the list for placement here at Echo’s Haven
