Dr. Lonsford is currently the (state) president of the Texas Veterinary Association. He is extremely knowledgeable and incredibly gentle with my three birds--an African Grey, Blue and Gold Macaw and a Greenwinged Macaw. We visit his office twice a year (unless one of the birds becomes ill) for well bird checks, wing, beak and toenail trims. He does not use a towel to straijacket (and terrorize) the birds. Instead, he manages to turn them over on thier backs, have a vet technician hold them in place and then he performs his magic with a minimum of fuss. We were in Petsmart, searching for someone knowledgeable to help us buy birdie things for our new bird Kiwi. A worker there recommended Roger E. Kendrick, even though it's a 45 minute drive from where we live. We decided to go and it was worth it! This guy knows what he's doing, and he helped us tame our bird down, so we could actually hold her! It's been two weeks since we went and she is just an angel. I highly recommend him :-)
