This is Burt, Dad and slave to all our fids. He is sitting with Scooby on his shoulder and Taz on his left knee and Chloe on his right knee...what a trio!
This is my husband Burt, a wonderful man who shares my love of our fids
Remember our feathered family need lots of fresh veggies every day!!Here is a sample of some of the ones our guys get daily.
Tweety Bird our first
I'm Tweety, I was given to my mom and dad by friends who couldn't take care of me anymore. They wanted to make sure I had I good home and I do.
I started it all. now I have lots of family.
Calabar and Jewels are best buddies now.
Calabar was a Mitred conure who needed a new home and came to live with us in October 1997. It is with great sadness that I must write that Calabar passed over to Rainbow Bridge on June 2,2002, she was only 10 years old. She passed away due to kidney failure, and we miss our sweet Calabar very much. Jewels and Calabar were best buddies, Jewels is doing fine.
Jewels is a Nanday conure that my husband brought home from a pet store in January 1997. We are Jewels second home as he didn't like the wife in his first home. Jewels likes me and not my husband now, go figure. Jewels is starting to like Burt better now and that's good.
I love my veggies so much I couldn't wait !

love my Choppers ToyI don't want to know
It is important to keep track of our feathered companions weights as they are very good at hiding any illnesses. One sign that they are not feeling well is a drop in weight, knowing your birds is very important. I weigh my guys about once a month.

I love to eat. Mom makes us lots of good stuff
I'm Suzi Q and I am a Soloman Island Eclectus. My hatch day is 2/24/99. I am very beautiful and a very good girl. I was 9 months old when I came to live with my family. I only talk a night when the cover is on..not ready to talk in public yet.

I'm ChloeI barely get to taste it as Mom says milk isn't good for me!
My name is Chloe and I am a Congo African Grey. I came home to live with my new family on Mothers Day 2000. Dad got me for Mom but I like him the best. Mom is OK and I am getting along with her better now. I think I was about 5 years old when I was adopted but I am not sure. I love to talk and play with my toys.
I really love it when dad scritches me.
Happy Mothers Day to meMy new Dad
I am a B&G named Simon and I am doing great. I think I was 5 years old when my new mom and dad adopted me in my forever home. I am a real sweetheart who loves to play and be cuddled by mom. I talk too, I am very polite and say Thank you when you give me a treat and then I say your welcome. Soooo cute. I also give a wonderful Hello and Hi, step up and come on, and lots more. I have settled in and I am enjoying my new diet already. My bowl was full of sunflower seeds but not any more. My colors are very vivid. I am also an escape artist so all the doors need an extra lock or I will get out in no time flat.

Burt and I drove about 5 hours to go get him and of course the same coming back. Simon did outstandingly well driving back in the car. He sat on my lap half the way and the other half on Burt’s lap. He loved looking out the window and watching all that was going on and was not a bit nervous about anything. We went through McDonald’s Drive Thru and guess who likes French fries. OK! OK! I know but he just got a little treat, he deserved one. He had been living for about a month in a house that was very dark; he really enjoyed the sun and activity during the car ride. We need to work on step-ups and he is already doing better. He is aggressive at times and does have a temper but we are working on that every day. He loves to show off and we when we took him to school he loved to show off his big wings for the kids especially when they clapped for him. He is a very good boy and we love him dearly. Look mom I can do it myselfbeautiful tail
Hi I am Chica
Peek a BooHi I am Chica, I am 3 years old and I was hatched on 5/13/02. I came to live with my new family after my former Dad realized I would be better in another home. I am happy, I love my veggies a lot, I love to play with toys and I seem to like all my feathered family

Burt and the fids sharing breakfast
I'm 10 years old
This is Misty she was here long before any of the birdies. She got along fine with all of them and took it in her stride. Taz was her favorite, they played together and shared goodies sometimes.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this as Misty our beloved companion for over 11 years passed over to Rainbow Bridge on March 1, 2002. We were with her to confort her as she made the final journey.
She had a great and healthy life until the last week when she suddenly became very ill and we found out she had cancerous tumor in her tummy.

Her full name was Misty's Rhaposody in Silver,
born 10/19/1990.
We miss our sweet Misty very much.

My name is Chewy, I live with Burt and Gayle because my dad Harold (Burt's dad) passed away in May of 2000. Harold was sick and lived with his son Burt and so did I. He had diabetes and got 2 shots every day for almost 2 years but unfortunately Chewy's liver and kidneys gave out on him and we had to release him from this world on March 25th,2004 it was a very sad day for us. We were with him as he he went over the Rainbow Bridge to be with Harold and Misty.Chewy was a very good boy and we will miss him very much, he loved to wait below SuziQ's cage as she would drop food down to him. We love you Chewy!

This following picture is of Xena.
Xena passed on over to rainbow ridge on October 18, 1999.
Xena was a very sweet baby who died on the operating table. She was having a pin removed from her leg as she had broken it earlier. Xena was a very brave little girl and it was a great shock to have her die so early in her life. Even simple procedures are not always simple or safe.
I miss my little girl very much every day.
I love you Xena...
Fly free and we will meet again one day Xena is the one on the rightSweet baby Xena
Thanks for visiting and keep your birdies safe.
